I've said to myself that it could be interesting to share the method I lastly use to paint my tabletop level miniatures. I want to clarify right now that it isn't the end-of-all method, but I find it to offer me, for now, the best quality/time spent ratio. Well, in my humble opinion, of course.
Je n'insisterai pas sur l'intérêt d'un ébarbage soigné car je suis loin d'être un modèle en la matière. Disons simplement que comme toute méthode basée sur les lavis et lasures, celle-ci pardonne encore moins les traces de joints de moulage qu'une peinture réalisée classiquement. La sous-couche blanche est, sans surprise, réalisée en 2-3 couches fines, vaporisées à environ 25-30 cm. Depuis peu je suis revenu, à mon entière satisfaction, aux bombes de la marque Citadel ( Games Workshop ), après avoir essayé plusieurs marques de peinture automobile ou de bricolage et avoir rencontré de nombreux problèmes avec celles-ci. Les figurines ont été préalablement fixées sur des socles de chez Fenris Games , un revendeur-fabriquant que je vous recommande chaudement pour son excellent rapport qualité-prix et son service impeccable.
I'll not stress upon the benefice to make a good filing of a miniature before painting it, as I'm far from being perfect in that matter. Let's simply say that as other methods based upon washes and so-called dipping, this one forgives mold lines even less than a classical made painting.The white priming is, unsurprisingly, realised by 2-3 thin coats, sprayed from 20-30 cm. I came back lately to Citadel spray cans, after trying other brands from auto or hardware stores, to no avail and many problems. The miniatures have been formerly glued on bases buyed from Fenris Games, which I highly commended for their very good quality/price ratio and their top-notch customer service.
